Altitude: grown at high altitudes in Columbia’s Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta Mountain Cup: well balanced, with nice body and bright acidity Producer: ANEI - ASOCIACION DE PRODUCTORES AGROECOLOGICOS INDIGENAS Y CAMPESINOS DE LA SIERRA NEVADA DE SANTA MARTA Founded in 1995, ANEI is an association of 600 family members located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region of northern Colombia.

 This coffee is shade grown which is good for the environment, but also good for flavor -- cherry's on shade-grown trees develop more slowly which develops a harder and more flavorful bean. It is grown at elevations of between 3,300 and 4,300 feet. The combination of shade and elevation generally lead to a slower maturing coffee cherry. This usually means a sweeter coffee, brighter acidity, and a harder bean. This year's crop has some nice dark chocolate and cocoa notes. Like any good Colombian coffee it is exceptionally balanced and leaves the mouth clean. Attributes: Medium body, good finish. Sweet, with crisp acidity.
